When I first began touring as an internationally renowned author and poet in the late 1980s, one of the most frequent questions I was always asked by audiences was, “What poet or author inspired you the most in becoming a writer and poet?” I would smile and instantly answer, “My rebel aunt, my second mom, my Aunt Dora.”
It is with a great deal of sadness and overwhelming pride that I honor the life of my truly amazing aunt, Aurora Molinar Quintana, who recently passed on March 18. She now joins my beloved uncle, Archie Quintana, the one true love of her life, who passed last June.
