Danny recently made this photo of a Great Horned Owl along Weld County Road 52 and the Big Thompson River. “They blend so well in the trees that you have to have binoculars to spot them. It took me probably 10 minutes of looking just to realize there was an object tucked in the trees,” he wrote in an email. “They sleep during the day and hunt during the night. If you see one flying during the day, it’s likely that the Blue Jays have found him. They love to harass the owls.” Photo by Danny Dodge
