HERRERA

It is with great heartache that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son, and brother, Kenny Herrera. God called him home on September 13, 2025. He was 44 years young.

Kenny will always be remembered as a good man who, above all, loved his family. They appreciate the outpouring of love and support during this most difficult time.

Born in Anaheim, California, on November 11, 1980, he was the only son of Christina Ponce and Kenneth Herrera. He was raised in a loving home and knew a nice, happy childhood alongside his sister, Sabrina. Kenny was super energetic as a child. He loved his sister, even when he was giving her a hard time. He was a bright boy who demonstrated great potential.

Kenny was a jack of all trades and held many certifications. He was, at different times, a CNA, a certified nutritionist, certified commercial welder, personal trainer, CDL Driver, and a Real Estate agent. He was no stranger to hard work or hustle. He spent time in his community, always giving back and doing his part to make his community and the world a better place.

On September 17, 2022, he married his longtime partner and the love of his life, Silvia America Salido. They said their vows in a romantic ceremony on the beach in Cancun, Mexico. They had built a beautiful life together. Kenny was a wonderful father to not just his own children, Nathan, Robert, Drew, and Little Kenny, but also to Silvia’s children, Giovanni, Adrian, Tristan, and Mailey, whom he loved as his own. He was very active and playful with his kids, often letting them get away with too much. He was also supportive and always there, and always trying to teach the kids something. He always cherished time with his family.

Kenny loved to work out and was very fitness oriented. He was very proud of his bench press personal record of 435 pounds! He was an intelligent man who loved to learn new things. He was a helper and was the kind of man who was there when he was needed, anytime, anywhere. Kenny was tenacious and encouraged tenacity in others, and always made you want to keep going, no matter the obstacle. He was generous, loving, and kind, and possessed unwavering positivity. If asked how he was, Kenny would simply answer “Blessed”.

Kenny impacted the lives of every person he came into contact with in a positive way. He undoubtedly left this world better than he found it. His beautiful smile, compassionate heart, and incredible sense of humor will never be forgotten.

Along with his wife and children, his mother and father, and his sister, Kenny leaves behind a large extended family, many dear friends, and a community that will truly miss his kind nature and genuine spirit.

Services were held on September 24 at Grace Community Church in Johnstown, and he was laid to rest at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Fort Collins. Memories of Kenny and words of condolence for his family are welcome at resthavencolorado. com.
