Linda S. Velasquez, of Greeley, passed on August 3, 2025. She was born on March 28, 1951, to Eliseo and Francis (Encinias) Maestas in New Mexico.
Linda grew up in Milliken and married the love of her life, Larry Velasquez Sr., on September 22, 1967, in Greeley. The couple had two children, Larry and Delores, and raised their family in Johnstown. Linda worked for Milliken Middle School and St. Mary’s Catholic School as a cook for many years.
Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She cherished her family and community dearly. She was a vibrant and kind-hearted soul, who loved singing and dancing.
Linda was a strong and determined woman who found a way to help anyone in need. She enjoyed spending time with her siblings, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Larry Velasquez Jr.; daughter, Delores (Adrian) Gaona; grandchildren, Desirea (Rory) Knipple, Carlos Segura, Shantay Arizmendi, Morgan Velasquez, Megan (Ryan) Mortensen and Darian Velasquez; great-grandchildren, Jaylin Knipple, Tatum Velasquez, Amiya Arizmendi, Amila Arizmendi, Hendricks Mortensen, Bella Mortensen and Clyde Mortensen; brother, Joe Maestas; sister, Helen Valenzuela; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents; six sisters; and two brothers.
A rosary will be held August 15 at Allnutt Funeral Service – Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, at 10:30 a.m., Memorial Service at 11 a.m., and a reception will immediately follow at Zoe’s Cafe, 715 10th Street, in Greeley.
