to Arnold Henry and Harriet (Wydeven) Kempen where she grew up and graduated from Assumption Catholic High School.
Following high school, she worked at the local Piggly Wiggly grocery store. She married, and as a military spouse, her journey took her many places before settling in Colorado. She started working at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in the Labor and Delivery ward and then became a mail carrier and later worked at Rocky Flats Plant as a security guard.
She married the love of her life, Michael Louis Gawart, on December 26, 1990, in Central City, and they later moved to Nebraska where they owned and operated an RV Park and Motel. They relocated to Cheyenne, where they owned Little Bear Trucking Company before retiring in Johnstown. They shared over 35 wonderful years together.
Sharon was a beautiful, kind, giving, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. As an adventurous outdoorswoman, she enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. She was also a talented seamstress who loved sewing, quilting with the Persian Pickle Piecers, and cross-stitching. Sharon was a dedicated member of Grace Community Church where she enjoyed volunteering and
