Bonnie Jean Ruppert, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, in Saint Peters, Missouri. She was born on November 2, 1938, in Adrian, Minnesota, to Robert and Viola (Didier) Knips. Bonnie was a longtime resident of northern Colorado, including Johnstown, Longmont and Loveland. She lived a full and vibrant life marked by devotion to her family, community involvement, and a passion for creativity.

Bonnie was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Ruppert II. They married on June 15, 1957, in Lismore, Minnesota, celebrating 59 years, and built a life rooted in love and shared values. She was a devoted mother to her children: Joseph Ruppert III (Lori), Heidi Lutz (Ed Dyche) and the late Nadine “DeeDee” Sage and Patricia “Patty” Ruppert. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was central to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

A woman of deep faith and community spirit, Bonnie was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnstown. Her commitment extended beyond worship; she contributed her time and energy to several local organizations including the Johnstown Historical Society, the VFW Auxiliary, Cheerful Learners Extension Club, Chilson Recreation Center and Colorado Department of Wildlife. Through these roles, she touched many lives with her warmth and generosity.

Bonnie had a remarkable talent for handcrafts and found joy in creating beautiful works through quilt making, knitting, basket weaving, needlework, and gardening. She also loved reading and cooking for those around her. An avid traveler and dedicated to staying active throughout her life, she embraced exercise as part of her daily routine well into her later years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 6 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnstown. Inurnment will follow at Johnstown Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the church following the graveside service.

Bonnie’s legacy lives on through those who knew and loved her. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all whose lives she touched.
