TWEDEN
TWEDEN

She was baptized into the name of the Triune God on April 17, 1954, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmington, Minnesota, and became a child of the King of Kings, with whom she walked for the 71 years of earthly life allotted to her. Phyllis spent her younger years growing up in Littleton.
She first met her future husband, Clinton Tweden, while babysitting for her sister Joyce. Although they lost contact when he went to college for a couple of years, they got together shortly before he joined the Air Force when he took her to an Elvis concert.
On February 14, 1974 (yes, on Valentine’s Day), at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Littleton, Phyllis and Clint were joined in marriage as husband and wife and lived near Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. The Lord blessed their one-flesh union of 51 years with two children: Jennifer and Sandra.
After living in Granby, they moved into the Strasburg area. On January 28, 1979, Phyllis made a public confession of her faith in her Lord Jesus at her confirmation at Saron Lutheran Church in Strasburg.
She worked as a Sterile Supply Technician at a couple of hospitals until she became the Sterile Supply Supervisor at National Jewish Hospital in Denver, where she worked until her retirement.
Over the years Phyllis was the “model wife and mother” as well as being the “best of ‘Police’ wives to Clint.” She especially enjoyed fishing, “glamping” (particularly at West Lake), canning food and sewing, as well as their numerous cruises/trips to places like Graceland, Arizona, Hawaii, Panama and Niagara Falls.
For their 50th anniversary she and Clint took her “favorite” trip to Aruba.
She was always helping others out; cooking for others and making Christmas baskets each year for neighbors and others.
Phyllis loved her daughters, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all of her heart. She was so happy moving to Johnstown several years ago to be closer to them.
She is survived by her husband, Clint; her daughter, Jennifer (Tracy) Malwitz; her daughter, Sandra (Daniel) Pratt; her four grandchildren, Stephen and Stephanie Pratt and Ryan and Taylor Malwitz; and her great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Tessa and Hope; as well as her two sisters, Joyce Furman and Leona Talent; and brother Leon (Sandra) Reiffenberger.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Beverly and Janet; and brother, Marvin.
After facing difficulties with kidney failure, on April 16, with Clint, Jennifer and Sandra at her side, the Lord held out His hand and called Phyllis to enter into eternal paradise where she now awaits the final resurrection to our heavenly home on the day of Christ’s promised return.
