LOPEZ

Gustavo Arsenio Lopez, affectionately known as Archie or Gus, passed away on August 4, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on May 19, 1942, in Longmont to John and Marguerita Lopez. Raised in Milliken, Gus graduated from Milliken High School with the Class of 1960.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Becky (Lulu) Martinez-Lopez. Together, they built a beautiful family, including their daughters, Dina Lopez-Francis (Rick Francis) and Debbie Lopez-Pattni (Manoj Pattni), and their sons, Larry Lopez (Melinda Lopez) and Gregory Scott Lopez (Yesenia Lopez). Gus was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren: Lauren, Joshua, Timothy, Nikhil, Emily, Kaylie, Mariah, Julian, Harrison, Jennifer, John, and William; and a great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren: Seth, Sophia, Logan, Gianna, and TJ.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Lopez, Alfonso Lopez, Anselmo (Joe) Lopez and Charles Lopez (Millie Lopez); and his sisters, Rose (Emma) Escamilla and Mary Lopez.

In 1973, Gus moved to California, where he made significant contributions to his community. He was the founder of the San Jose Mexican American Chamber of Commerce and a charter member of the San Jose Kiwanis. Gus enjoyed playing golf weekly, a pastime that brought him much joy.

Gus will be remembered for his dedication to his Savior, Jesus Christ, his family, his community, and his love for golf. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, including his favorite pet, Sammy Lopez.
