STEFFENS

Nelson “Pat” Steffens, 79, passed away on July 17, 2026. He was born March 17, 1947, to Armon and Gladys Steffens in Ft Collins. He graduated from Middle Park High School in Granby in 1965. He attended Lamar Community College for two years following graduation. In 1968, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force from which he retired in 1988. Some of his favorite assignments were six years at Lowry AFB. He also had assignments in Taiwan and Germany.

After retirement he had a newspaper route for the Greeley Tribune until retirement.

Pat was preceded in death by mother, father, and brother, Ben Steffens. He is survived by his youngest brother, Steven Steffens (Nel); nieces, Kris Hendricks, Marcie Ramsey (Dean), Victoria Steffens, and Julia Stovall; and nephew, Pierce DeKoevend. Pat is also survived by grandnieces, Alicia Guel (Draya), Amanda Guel (Zion), Austin Steffens (Johanna), Courtney Smith (Ray), and Brittany Fox (Max); great-grandnieces, Cameron and Kaydence Smith; and great-grandnephews, Edward Steffens and Bentlee Fox.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 22 at 10 a.m. at Allnutt Macy, 6521 W. 20th St., in Greeley, followed by a reception. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. at Johnstown Cemetery.
