GRAHAM

Monique Raymonde (Juncker) Graham passed away peacefully at home in Johnstown on April 10, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 9, 1937, in Paris, France, Monique immigrated to the United States in 1949 with her mother, traveling by ocean liner in search of a new life and opportunity. She carried her French roots with her always, a quiet strength and grace that would define her throughout her life. Monique was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James W. Graham III; her mother, Jeanne (Juncker) Mitchell; and her stepfather, L.W. Mitchell.

She is survived by her two sons, Brian Graham and his husband Jeremiah Graham, and Scott Graham and his wife Monica Graham. She was a proud grandmother to Boe Muckley, Kandice Canham, and Payton Walston, and a cherished great grandmother to Myra Canham, Emery Canham, Willa Walston, Rory Walston, and Troy Walston. She is also survived by her dear, dear best friend, Judy Rodriguez, who was like a sister to her; many French cousins; and her Uncle Andre Juncker of Paris.

Monique was a devoted wife and mother who, alongside her husband, raised their two sons in Lafayette, Colorado. She dedicated her life to her family, spending many years as a stay-at-home mother. She also lovingly cared for children in her home for 28 years, supporting countless families in her community through her childcare.

She found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. Monique loved to draw, paint, and crochet, and had a deep appreciation for nature. Estes Park held a special place in her heart, especially in the fall, when the aspen trees turned brilliant shades of gold. She loved watching the deer and elk, finding peace and happiness in the beauty around her.

Monique had a special love for animals, especially little dogs and cats. In her later years, she found great purpose and joy helping to foster senior dogs alongside her son Brian and his husband Jeremiah. She gave love, comfort, and compassion to so many abandoned and neglected animals, and in return, they brought her immense happiness.

Monique lived her life with faith and a deep belief in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, which carried her through both joyful times and life’s challenges.

In her final years, Monique was lovingly cared for at home by her son Brian and his husband Jeremiah as she bravely faced and ultimately succumbed to complications of dementia. Their care allowed her to remain surrounded by love and familiarity.

Monique will be cremated, and a portion of her remains will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and the father of her children, James W. Graham, at Lafayette Cemetery. A private family service and celebration of her life will be held later this year.

Momma, we love you more than words can ever express. We will forever cherish the memories we shared with you. You are our hero.

“Je t’aime beaucoup” – I love you so much. Always and forever, Momma.
