Memorial Contributions to Independence Historical Museum & Arts Center or A.W.O.L Human Society in lieu of flowers.

Carolyn “Sue” Prince was born November 11, 1941, in Maryville, Missouri, to Charles Car ter and Lo is (Linville) Carter. Sue graduat ed from In dependence High School and went on to the Universi ty of Kansas, in Lawrence, where she received a degree in Nursing. During her nurs ing career, she worked in fam ily practice, as well as in hos pitals and psychiatric wards. She was an exceptional nurse due to her nurturing nature.

She passed away March 25, 2026.

Sue met her husband, Del Prince, in Dallas, Texas, and they married on June 4, 1966. The couple made their fami ly home in Arlington, Texas, where they raised their two daughters. Following her re tirement, Sue and Del moved to Independence, Kansas, to be close to her father. Sue is described by her friends as be ing the sweetest of the sweet, very giving, a bright light, full of positivity, giggly, smiley and full of love.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include two daugh ters, Nicole and husband, Darryl Abrahamson, of John stown and Pam and husband, Brendan Carroll, of Denton, Texas; fi ve grandchildren, WeBu and wife, Megan Find ley-Carroll, India and Zella Carroll, and Marlo and Char ley Abrahamson; as well as f i ve great-grandchildren, Pax, Nova, Oryn and Luka Find ley-Carroll, and Tyrone Bell.

Funeral services were held April 2 at 1st United Method ist Church in Independence, Kansas. Burial followed in Mount Hope Cemetery in In dependence.
