HUGHES
HUGHES

Ann spent her early years in North Carolina. She worked for many years as a secretary for offices and school districts, where her gentle and kind-hearted nature left a lasting impression on those she worked with.
On May 22, 1965, Ann married Robert “Bob” Hughes, and together they shared 60 years of a devoted and selfless partnership. Ann was a wise and loving mother and grandmother, always a caregiver to all. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert “Bob” Hughes; and her son, Damon Hughes.
Ann was a devout Christian and served as a deaconess for her church for many years. She brought prayer and communion to those unable to attend church services, always spending time with those in need of the Lord’s light. Her faith and community involvement were a testament to her selfless and kind-hearted nature.
In her personal life, Ann loved to garden and was an avid fan of soap operas, especially “Days of Our Lives.” She shared this passion with her daughter, Jodi Black, whom she took on a special soap opera-themed cruise, where they met many of their favorite stars.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Jodi (Jerry) Black; her honorary daughter, Kelly Wildeman Hughes; her sister, Jean Haynes, her brothers, Harold Ambrose Cornelison and Charles Timothy (Julia) Cornelison; and her grandsons, Jameson Sherwood, Kyle Sherwood and Jacob Black. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harold A. Cornelison and Helen E. Cornelison.
Ann Marsh Hughes will be remembered as a wise and selfless woman, born to be a mother and an amazing grandmother. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will be cherished by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life for Ann will be held on February 21 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 531 8th St., in Berthoud. A reception will follow.
