James Carl Noah, 90, of Johnstown passed away November 16, 2025, at NCMC in Greeley, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in St. Francis, Kansas, on October 26, 1935, to Carl Frank and Laura Jane (Mount) Noah. At a very early age, the family moved to Denver where he grew up and graduated from Alameda High School in 1954.
On December 27, 1952, Jim accepted his first enlistment with the U.S. Naval Reserves and received his honorable discharge on December 26, 1960. While serving, he met Patsy Ann Mayer and they were later married on September 17, 1960, at a Lutheran Church in Lakewood, celebrating 65 years.
After high school, Jim went to work for Public Service, working as a lineman and retiring as a lineman service representative in 1995.
Jim served on the Johnstown Town Board from 1986-1992, first as mayor protem, and then fulfilled mayor when Bill Gray passed away. He was also the Police Commissioner. He was then elected as mayor, serving another four years. When his term was done, they sold their home in town and moved north of Johnstown where they raised Belgians and Percherons.
Jim served on the Johnstown Volunteer Fire Department, was a Mason and a member of DeMolay, American Legion, a former Elk member and a member of the Road Knights car club. He enjoyed restoring cars, his favorite being a 1951 Chevy truck, playing video poker, the Denver Broncos, but time with family was most important.

Thankful to have shared his life are his wife, Pat; daughters, Shelly (Danny) Quintana and Maddy (Kevin) Knipp, all of Johnstown; four grandchildren, Rebekah Quintana, Daniel (Kamryn) Quintana, Dakota and Kacee Knipp; eight great-grandchildren, Ariana, Analeisa, Amiyah, Aliyah, Azekiel, Hudson, Harper and Braylyn; as well as two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nancy Skinner; his stepdad, Harold Schmidt; and stepmom, Dorothy Noah.
Jim’s family would like to thank Front Range Fire and Rescue for the many times they assisted him at home. Per Jim’s request, cremation will be completed and no public services will be held. He will be scattered on the plains of eastern Colorado.
