PALMER Joseph Michael Palmer

PALMER Joseph Michael Palmer, 48, of Johnstown died suddenly on November 10, 2025. He was born June 26, 1977, at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver to Billy James and Shannon Kathleen (Riley) Palmer and grew up in the Denver area. As a teen, he moved to Florida before he returned to Colorado. In 1999, Joe met Suzanne Elizabeth Shaver on Black Friday while they were both working for Mervyns. They started dating in January, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was sent to basic training in April 2000 to Fort Benning, Georgia. They were married December 16, 2000, in Thornton while he was on leave. They moved to Colorado Springs where he completed his service before receiving a medical discharge in 2001. He continued to try to get back into service, but a prior back injury wouldn’t allow him.

Joe worked various jobs and was always good with his hands. His last job with High Country Beverage allowed him to be close to home and help with his family. His focus was his wife and children, being a good dad and husband, dedicated to their well-being.

He loved his Harley motorcycle, had an eclectic appreciation for music, was a swordsman and enjoyed medieval reenactment, shooting targets and karaoke. He loved hard and wanted the best for his wife and kids.

Joe was a part of the TAF men’s group at Flatirons Church in Lafayette before moving further north to Johnstown and had joined a Veteran’s group in Berthoud this past summer. They attended Life Bridge Church in Longmont.

Thankful to have shared his life are his wife, Suzanne, and their five children, Dax, Jake, Eva, West and Cora; his parents, Billy Palmer and Shannon Riley; and a sister, Denise (Josh) Anderson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Neal Palmer, on July 2, 2020.
