First time for everything

Earlier this month, the Weld RE-5J School Board offi cially welcomed two students from Roosevelt High School onto their team. The board had been wanting to add a student voice for a while now, and after a long interview process, two juniors, Haiden Chambers and Annabelle Rusco, have both recently been selected to complete the board’s goal.

“The way this was orchestrated was that Superintendent Scott Nielsen came from the Poudre district and they had already had this position in place, which gave him the idea to bring that to our school district,” said Chambers. “Then last year, he formed a group of students who he would meet with every month, which is where Annabelle and I came into play.”
