A memoir told through quilts

By Billie DeLancey/The Johnstown Breeze

The hardest part for Linda Groce when starting a quilt project is choosing her fabrics. She’s had a couple of failures over the years, including one that turned out so bright you almost needed sunglasses to look at it. Despite the fabric challenge, she has come full circle with her creative art quilts. Groce won fi rst place in the Viewer’s Choice competition last year at the Stitches in Time Quilt and Craft Fair. She was also selected as this year’s Featured Quilter by her peers from the Persian Pickle Piecers – the local quilt group she belongs to which partners with the Johnstown Historical Society in the annual quilt and craft fair effort.
