JOHNSTOWN – Town Clerk Meghan Martinez announced last Friday that the attempt to “cure” signatures on a recall petition aimed at removing Mayor Michael Duncan has been ruled insuffi cient.
A recall committee turned in the petition last month seeking to remove the mayor from office. The petition needed 490 verified signatures to move forward. The number is calculated as 25 percent of the total votes cast for the position at the last election in which the position was up for election.
