JOHNSTOWN – Saying he will “exhaust every avenue available” to fight it, Mayor Michael Duncan filed a protest last week to the recall petition effort against him currently under review by the Town Clerk.
A recall committee turned in the petition last month seeking to remove the mayor from office. It contained 559 signatures. The petition needs 490 verified signatures to move forward. The number is calculated as 25 percent of the total votes cast for the position at the last election in which the position was up for election.
