Around Town

Around Town
What a way to start your season … and your high school golf career. Roosevelt High School freshman Codyjames “CJ” Wilder carded an ace – a hole in one – a couple of weeks back on the 198-yard Hole #14 at Highland Hills Golf Course in Greeley, using a 5-iron. Congratulations, CJ, and keep swinging. Got a picture for Page 3? An item for Around Town? Send them to us at [email protected]. Photo provided by Roosevelt High School

At the Johnstown Town Council meeting on July 20, Town Council adopted Johnstown’s first-ever Public Art Plan. The plan provides a framework for bringing meaningful public art to the community. Next steps include forming a Public Art Committee and beginning work on a new art piece that reflects Johnstown and gives the community something to be proud of.

The Public Art Committee will help guide the implementation of the Town’s Public Art Plan and support the development of a thoughtful, inclusive, and sustainable public art program. Committee members may assist with identifying opportunities for public art, reviewing proposed projects, encouraging community participation, and making recommendations consistent with the Town’s adopted Public Art Plan. Committee members should be prepared to attend meetings, review materials in advance, participate in discussions, and work collaboratively with other members, Town staff, artists, consultants, and community partners. If you are interested, please visit www.JohnstownCO.gov/ PublicArt to apply.
