Sheriff warns about ‘paver scam’

The Weld County Sheriff ’s Office (WCSO) is warning the public and seeking information on suspicious incidents. Recently, the sheriff’s office has taken two separate reports of suspicious incidents involving asphalt paving.

According to a Facebook post from the Sheriff’s Office, both reporting parties indicated a truck driver showed up at their homes with extra asphalt from another job and offered it to the homeowners. Once the homeowners agreed to take some of the product, they received the asphalt, then the company reportedly tried to charge the homeowners a large sum of money that had not been formally agreed upon.
