Around Town

Around Town
The Roosevelt Rough Rider Football team went on a “weed workout” this week. Head coach Lane Wasinger said, posting this photo to Facebook, “Our practice fields have been completely taken over by weeds – to a point where we will be unable to use our field when practice starts on August 3. We decided to take some initiative and show pride in our space. In between weight workouts, our boys covered 115,200 square feet (2 full football fields) pulling weeds. We used our Competition Tuesday to clean up and give some attention to our practice field in hopes that we have a revived and safe surface to practice on this season. I couldn’t be more proud of this group of kids!” The Riders open their season August 28, when they travel the short distance to take on perennial rival Mead. Their first home game will be on September 4 against Pueblo West. Got a picture of Page 3? An item for Around Town? Send them to [email protected]. Photo provided by Roosevelt High School Football

Short and sweet this week, Breeze Nation….
