Around Town

Around Town
Friends, family and firefighters joined together last week to celebrate the retirement of Front Range Fire Rescue Director of Administrative Services, Christine Champlin (pictured center), who served 11 years with the department. “For over a decade, Christine has been the backbone of our administrative operations, keeping our team organized, supported, and moving forward,” the department wrote on its Facebook page. “While we will deeply miss her leadership, wisdom, and daily presence around the station, we are incredibly excited for her as she steps into this next chapter.” Our congratulations and best wishes to Christine as well. We are saddened to hear that Rick Hays of Hays Market passed away this week. While we haven’t seen him in some time because of his health issues, he was and remains a friend of The Breeze. We’ll miss his smile and jokes and general good nature. The Hays Family is part of the foundation of these communities, and we, along with no doubt many others, offer our condolences. His obituary is included in this issue of the Breeze. Service information was not available at printing, but will be included in the website version as soon as we have details.

Condolences as well to the family and friends of Charleen Barr, a longtime former Weld RE-5J employee, who also passed away this week.
