Around Town
Johnstown Town Council members proudly took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony last week opening the new Development Services Building, located at 201 Centennial Drive. The 7,061 square-foot building brings together the Town’s Engineering, Planning & Development, and Building Departments under one roof, creating a centralized location for residents, businesses, developers, and contractors seeking development-related services. “The new building reflects the Town’s commitment to organizational excellence, responsive service, and strategic investment in facilities that support a growing community,” the Town wrote in a press release. “The facility will help streamline services, improve collaboration among departments, and better serve residents and businesses for years to come.” Photo provided by the Town of Johnstown

Mark your calendar now for next Thursday (July 2) to help celebrate the retirement of Front Range Fire Rescue Director of Administrative Services Christine Champlin after 11 years of dedicated service. Christine has certainly helped us at The Breeze get out information about FRFR over the years. The event will be held at the fire station in Milliken starting at 2 p.m. and will be followed by snacks and refreshments.

Think things are bad in our country? Well, it’s not new. Join author Professor Greg Jackson this Saturday as he discusses his new book “Been There, Done That: How Our History Shows What We Can Overcome.” Jackson, who also hosts the podcast History That Doesn’t Suck, will discuss the challenges that have faced our country over the years, some similar to what we face today. The event will be held at the Milliken Public Library at 6 p.m. and registration is required.
