School Board OKs budget

June 17, the Weld RE-5J School Board met for their second regular meeting of the month to formally approve budgets for the upcoming school year. The board also passed other items including an updated salary schedule for district employees, an agreement with the local education association and more.

During the beginning of the meeting, Superintendent Scott Nielsen acknowledged some community concerns he’s heard regarding the appearance of Roosevelt High School. Nielsen said he’s heard concern over brown grass and weeds at the school, but he explained that the custodial and maintenance staff have been working throughout the summer to maintain the schools.
