We received a lovely note from the daughter of a local woman who recently passed away, thanking us for running her mother’s obituary free of charge. We feel like obituaries are the last historical record of our readers in the community and wince at the very idea of making a grieving family get out their credit card to pay, or worse yet, limit what they want to say because of cost.
We also had a nice chat this week with Gale Amaya who called to renew her subscription. Gale has been dealing with some medical issues. She said she’s on the second round of treatment and is awaiting test results. We asked her if there was anything we could do and she said, “pray it goes away.” We would suggest all of us do just that. We’re thinking healing thoughts, Gale.
