Are you a poet and you know it? In honor of National Poetry Month, the Glenn A. Jones Library in Johnstown is hosting an Open Mic Night tonight at 6 p.m. No registration is required and you’re invited to share a poem, song, or reading, or simply come enjoy an evening of creativity and community. And while you’re at the library, check out the Elementary Art Show. Until April 25 you can enjoy a colorful collection of amazing artwork created by students from our local elementary schools.
The Johnstown Community YMCA is hosting Cancer Survivors Socials, which are welcoming, supportive gatherings designed to bring cancer survivors together in a relaxed and uplifting environment. In coordination with the Livestrong program for cancer survivors, this event provides an opportunity to connect with others who share similar experiences, build meaningful relationships, and enjoy time focused on community, encouragement and well-being. The social will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. April 11 with additional dates planned for August and October.
