What’s better than a public library? MORE public library. And so, we are thrilled to announce the Glenn A. Jones M.D. Memorial Library is opening an additional location. Mark your calendars for the grand opening of Milliken Public Library on Saturday, May 9, at 9 a.m. We’ll party library- style with face painting, balloon artistry, giveaways, and – of course – it’s all free!
Milliken Public Library will be located on the north end of Milliken Intermediate School. This building is a piece of local history, having served as Milliken Middle School for decades. When Roosevelt Middle School opened in 2025, Milliken Middle School shut its doors. The Weld RE-5J School District and the library came together to see if this old building could continue to serve residents in new ways. The district needed more elementary school space, and the community needed more library space and expanded services. Rather than start from scratch, we collaborated to breathe new life into the old building. With a little remodeling and loads of heart, we’ve created a stunning and versatile new library.
