If you missed the Candidate Forums in Johnstown and Milliken last week … you missed out. Great turnout, great conversations about Johnstown and Milliken. We’d like to thank everyone who took time to attend and also thank the candidates.
We must admit we’re a bit disappointed to see the muddy social media footprints of negative politics showing up in our communities. Same thing happened during a School Board election a couple of years back. That’s not what our two towns are about. Tell us why someone should be elected, not why we shouldn’t vote for someone else. It’s ugly. It’s beneath all of us. And it’s just plain bullying. Maybe it plays in statewide or national elections, but (to those doing it) it doesn’t play here. We’ve already heard several comments from folks saying they won’t vote for someone connected to such destructive drivel.
