With spring coming it’s time to give your lawn and garden some love, and the Town of Johnstown wants to help. The town is offering a Residential Lawn Replacement Program. By replacing water-thirsty lawns with sustainable, low-water landscapes, residents can receive a rebate up to $2 per square foot – saving up to $2,000 per water account per year.
Project designs must be approved by town staff prior to starting the work. The town has also partnered with Resource Central to offer low-water perennial garden kits. These kits are easy to install and can help you save around 7,300 gallons of water over the garden’s lifetime compared to a traditional grass lawn. You can even get $25 off your kit.
