Afew days ago, members of Front Range Fire Rescue assembled in front of Jim Young’s home on North 2nd Street in Johnstown. Thankfully, this was not an emergency incident. Rather, this was the first visit of a new risk reduction program championed by the FRFR Foundation: installing a KnoxBox HomeBox on Young’s front door. The HomeBox is high security lock box that is large enough to hold one key, which the fire department can use to enter your home during an emergency without causing damage to your door or door frame. This key can save precious seconds when every second counts, allowing FRFR better opportunities to save lives and property.
