Milliken residents have some new places to rest and reflect with the installation of three benches made from recycled wind turbines around town. The benches are located at Town Hall, Lola Park and the Dog Park near Ehrlich Lake. Town Administrator Cheryl Powell said the artist who did the murals at Pelican Joes, the Hillsboro Skate Park and the library drop box will soon be painting scenes on the benches. “Stay tuned…they should look fun after she gets these benches done,” Powell said. Congratulations to Kash Long, Michael Garcia and Malakii Martin on their state wrestling titles. And congratulations as well to Kinsey Wells, the first-ever Roosevelt female wrestler to place at state. We’re all proud of you. And best of luck this weekend to the Roosevelt High School boys and girls basketball teams, who enter the playoff hunt. We’ll have updates on Facebook.

The Town of Johnstown is accepting applications from citizens interested in serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
