This season saw a lot of new faces in the Roosevelt High School wrestling room, both in the athletes and in the coaching staff. But regardless of the changes, the boys wrestling team continues to get better year after year.
“It took a little time to get kids to buy into what we are doing here,” said first-year head coach Patrick Gore. “There’s a lot of great homegrown traditions that have been established here; some of these kids grew up with different coaches than us. Their brothers grew up doing things different. We came in this season and tried to change a few things, and at first there was some pushback, but everyone really bought in the last month of the season, and it really showed at state.”
