Last year was a season of firsts for Roosevelt High School girls wrestling. First season in program history. First season with new head coach Anthony Sandoval. First practices for the team. First wrestling practice ever for some of the girls. First matches, first uniforms, and so on.
This year was different for the team and Sandoval. They got to work quickly, practices were more intense, and no nonsense was tolerated. This team had a defined goal this season: put wrestlers on the podium at state.
