Around Town

Around Town
Longtime residents may remember the Albertson Family, formerly of Johnstown, now living in Kentucky. Janet Albertson posted this photo of her most recent quilt with a bittersweet note. “Probably the last quilt I will ever make,” Albertson, who has been diagnosed with cancer, said. “I started piecing it in January when I had a couple good weeks health-wise. The borders were worked on little by little when I had a little strength. This week Emily (her daughter) quilted it for me, and I finished binding it today. I’m thankful to have it completed in answer to my prayers.” Our prayers are with you as well, Janet. Got a picture for Page 3? An item for Around Town? We and our readers would love to see them. Send them to [email protected]. Photo provided by Janet Albertson

Congratulations to Liviana White,

who is the second- best high school diver in the state after only her second year of competition. Our sports guru Jorge Garcia has a story in this week’s paper. And best of luck to the Roosevelt High School boys and girls wrestling teams that hit the mats this weekend for the state meet. We’ll have updates throughout the weekend on Facebook and X.
