The University of Denver and Pivot Energy, a national renewable-energy provider headquartered in Denver, have announced the successful completion of the state’s first off-site net metering solar energy project, located in Johnstown.
The 3.28-megawatt direct current (MWdc) project located along Weld County Road 15 started producing 100 percent local renewable energy last month, a significant step forward in DU’s commitment to offset 100 percent of its electricity with renewable energy, according to a press release from the university.
