The Weld RE-5J Board of Education met on February 4, where the board discussed two items of special business and celebrated student achievement. The two items of special business involved proposed career and technical education courses, industry certificates and concurrent enrollment offerings and a new K-5 literacy curriculum. These items will come to the board again in the future, and if approved, would go into effect for the 2026-27 school year.
The meeting began with the board recognizing staff and student celebrations. Winners of a postcard contest were celebrated by the board, and the winning artwork will be featured on district mailings.
