Yes, it’s that time of the year. Time to find the perfect gift, bake the perfect homemade cookies and find the perfect Santa Claus to visit. However, my obsession has always been finding the perfect Christmas tree! Being an eternal optimist, looking for the perfect tree was an annual quest.
Why describe the saga of finding a tree as “the good, the bad and ???”? Maybe not grateful; but the one “???” tree was truly ugly. One Christmas many, many years ago, my parents bought the ugliest tree ever. Even Charlie Brown would agree. Still in elementary school, I hated the tree so much I cried and cried, “I want another tree.” I guess I won because my parents went out and got a new tree. Of course, with my approval!
