MILLIKEN – Fiscal accountability was the theme of the Board of Trustees meeting on December 10, as the board continued a previous discussion from a work session held earlier in December about ideas for how the town can improve fiscal recordkeeping with organizations that receive town funds.
During a special work session on December 3, board members had questions about “non-departmental” expenditures that showed up during budget conversations. The board discussed the idea of requiring outside organizations and groups to submit a yearly budget to understand where town funds were going and whether those funds were used that same year.
