O ur condolences to the friends and family of Jim Noah and Jana Taff , both of whom passed away recently. We remember Jim presiding over Town Board meetings in the tiny Johnstown Town Hall that used to sit in the parking lot behind KHNC (yes Virginia, there used to be a building there). We’ll miss seeing Jana in Hays Market, always smiling, always asking about our kids, etc. They will both be missed. We have complete obituaries in this week’s issue.
It’s time to start buying gifts for kids in need as part of the annual “Christmas Caring” program. Children up to 17 years old will receive gifts from a “wish list” ornament available on Christmas trees at the Glenn A. Jones Library or Hays Market. Residents can select an ornament, purchase the gift noted, wrap it, attach the ornament, and return it to the library by December 8.
