While there will be no election next month in the Weld RE-5J School District, residents living in northern Johnstown will vote in the Thompson School District, considering whether to extend an expiring bond and electing three board members.
Weld RE-5J canceled its election when only three candidates – all incumbents – filed for the School Board election. Monica Johnson, Amanda Proctor and Michael Wailes were all declared reelected in September. The district estimates they saved about $25,000 by cancelling the election.
