Roosevelt High School Class of ’75 had their 50th class reunion recently. In attendance at their dinner August 16 at the Mad Russian were former teachers and coaches pictured above. From the left: Jan Knutson; Jim Altergott; Mike Pallotto; Randall Hess; Michelle Hess, Randall’s daughter-in-law; and Gwyn Cody. Jan Knutson taught Home Economics and Gwyn Cody (aka Gwyn Schulz) taught English and produced many Thespian programs as well as introducing modern dance to Roosevelt. Three of the instructors/coaches are notable in that all are members of the Colorado High School Coaches Association (CHSCA) Hall of Fame: Jim Altergott, (2019) Basketball; Mike Pallotto, (2013) Wrestling; and Randall Hess, (1998) Track. Jim Altergott reminded those in attendance that Roosevelt has a total of five coaches inducted into the CHSCA Hall of Fame, the other two being Ed Eastin, (2016), Football; and Dale Yost, (2007) Football.
