The Roosevelt High School Agriculture Program has a fresh new addition to its hands-on learning environment – new fish in the school’s aquaponics tanks. These aquatic arrivals are more than just an exciting change for the classroom; they represent a key opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of sustainable agriculture, animal care, and agribusiness.
Under the guidance of RHS agriculture instructors, students will be responsible for every aspect of raising the fish – from monitoring water quality and feeding schedules to managing system maintenance and growth tracking. This practical experience reinforces classroom lessons in biology, chemistry, and environmental science, while also developing critical problem- solving and teamwork skills.
