County offering ‘back to school’ shots

August is National Immunization Awareness Month, and the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment (WCDPHE) wants to remind parents and guardians to assess if their children are up to date on required immunizations as they prepare for the new school year.

Vaccinations are important to preventing diseases such as measles, mumps, rubella, and whooping cough. These vaccines not only protect individual children but also contribute to the overall health of the community by reducing the spread of preventable illnesses in schools and other public spaces.
