MILLIKEN – From sunrise to sundown this Saturday, Milliken will be alive with laughter and fellowship as the community comes together to celebrate the 101st Beef ‘n Bean Day.
According to local lore, in 1924, a Presbyterian minister cooked a pot of pinto beans as that was one of the agricultural products of the area for people who were hungry. In 1926, the first official event occurred as a town picnic, then a few years later a rancher donated a side of beef, and that is how we have Beef ‘n Bean Day.
