RHS ag teacher honored

Roosevelt High School agriculture teacher Jazmine Zuniga has been recognized as the Outstanding Early Career Teacher of the Year by the Colorado Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association (CVATA). The announcement was made earlier this summer during the annual CVATA Conference, hosted in Rifle.

Zuniga, who also received her five-year service pin at the event, was honored for her outstanding efforts in the classroom, dedication to student leadership through FFA, and contributions to agricultural education at the state level. She currently serves as a CVATAcommittee chair and as the Colorado FFA Foundation Representative. This recognition qualifies her to apply for the regional award in the spring, with potential for national recognition in 2026.
