Around Town

Around Town
It was a friendly rivalry renewed this past Saturday, as the Johnstown Police Department took on Front Range Fire Rescue in a charity softball game at Nelson Farm Park in Johnstown. While the firefighters came out on top, the real winners were local youth, who will receive financial assistance for athletic fees and equipment from the money raised. Got a picture for Page 3? The Johnstown Historical Society is sad to announce that they’ve made the hard decision to retire the longtime and once very popular Stitches in Time Quilt & Craft Fair. Unfortunately, members say, the event has slowly been declining over the past five years in the number of participating vendors, quilters, and foot traffi c by the public. “We wish our past vendors and quilters the best in finding other options to promote your wonderful crafts, quilts, and other products,” the society wrote in an email.

Congratulations to Hannah Grim and Kimberly Quintana from Johnstown, who both graduated from the University of Wyoming spring semester. Tyler Mc-Lain, of Johnstown, earned a Master of Science in Information Technology: Informatics from University of Maryland Global Campus in spring 2025.
