The Weld RE-5J Board of Education regular meeting on May 21 had a full audience of teachers across the district donning red t-shirts, the color of the Johnstown-Milliken Education Association (JMEA). Teachers packed the meeting and spoke directly to the board ahead of negotiations for teacher contracts and salary for the next school year during citizen comments.
JMEA is the local teacher’s union and is part of a coalition consisting of other education associations across Weld County.
