JOHNSTOWN – The Town of Johnstown has announced the grand re-opening of the newly reconstructed Johnstown Police Department building with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony right out front on Saturday, May 17, at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be followed by public tours of the new facility, giving residents a behind-thescenes look at the enhanced space.
This project was made possible by a grant in the amount of $1 million awarded to the JPD in March 2024 by the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA). The newly redesigned facility incorporates sustainable energy solutions, with the installation of solar panels, setting a strong example of utilizing renewable energy resources within the community. It also represents a signifi cant investment in public safety to expand and modernize key facilities at the Johnstown Police Department, improving operational efficiency and customer service, according to a press release from the town.
