Around Town
Members of the Knowledge Quest Academy band and orchestra brought home a pair of wins this past weekend at the “Music in the Parks” event held at Alameda International Jr./Sr. High School. The full orchestra placed first with an “excellent” rating and the overall middle school orchestra also took top honors. KQA Music Educator Amanda McCosh said the students competed against a dozen other schools from Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and Arkansas. After performing, the students were treated to a day at Elitch’s. Got a picture for Page 3? Item for Around Town? Send it to [email protected]. Photo provided by Amy Lucero

Congratulations to the Roosevelt High School FFA Dairy Evaluation team, which took state championship team honors recently and will represent Colorado FFA at the 2025 National Convention in Indianapolis. The Riders also took a whole bushel basket of other awards and recognitions.

“We couldn’t be more proud of the students who come to practice, put in the work, and continue to grow as individuals,” the FFA program posted on its Facebook page. “We know all these kids will do big things, whether they are heading off to colleges/trade schools/ military service next year, or continuing to be leaders in our FFA Chapter.”
