The Roosevelt Rough Riders took on the Berthoud Spartans at Nelson Farm Park Monday night and emerged victorious in a close 2-1 victory.
The Riders started junior pitcher Israel Castillo on the mound, and he would complete the game pitching all seven innings, giving up only three hits on 113 pitches while striking out 13 batters. Castillo was also 1 for 2 at the plate with a triple and scored a run.
